SLEEPING WITH THE HERD

The Herd recently had a nasty 'scare' with one of the mares having suspected colic with a temp hovering around 38degrees; it was all-hands-on-deck for the team who walked her on a lead around the paddock so she would not get the opportunity to lay down, laying down can prove to be fatal for a pony with colic.....

The vet arrived, checked her over and to our relief advised that her tummy sounded like indigestion... the mare was given an injection after which she got right back to grazing closely followed by some tummy action which is a good sign of recovery

Lovemore was with The Herd at 14:30 and back again at 16:30; in those short 2 hours, she developed these symptoms... Lovemore who is dedicated to the care and well-being of The Herd grabbed his pillow and blankets and slept with her that night to make sure she was completely well... Thanks Lovemore
