Classic and country music, calms down and relaxes ponies; no I'm not crazy, not about this anyway; it's true they like short melodies and strong rhythm patterns, they respond to the vibrations of music which positively affect their emotional state
Janet Marlow, a music composer, internationally known for her role in understanding animal hearing sensitivities and how sound and music affect the behavior of horses. Music is a language that involves pitch, tone, frequency and volume;

Marlow says these elements of sound are what horses use to communicate; that these sounds also help them assess their environments for survival purposes
Studies over the past ten years observed that horses prefer being in a barn with music rather than without music
Playing music helps balance equine behavior because it helps mask outside sounds and vibrations, such as tractor engines, high-pitched tools, thunder, and other intense sounds.
I decided to give this a try and played some classical music to The Herd after breakfast and while they were still in the paddock; very interesting reaction; Whirlz was very inquisitive and walked over to find out more, Dovid seemed very happy, Bomba and Kvellar came to see and the others continued to graze; what was interesting is that there was no jealousy or striving for attention..... it was rather a peaceful space to be
